10 Best Paints for Kids

Get your paint smocks on and get loads of paper, we are going to give you the ten best ways to paint your best pictures with our Paint ideas. Just remember these are creative ways to paint and kids will get messy! Some of the art will only be up for display for a short time due to the medium used for painting and some of the paints might be very faint in color due to the medium too. Enjoy!

1. With Ice Cubes - add a little food coloring and mix on ice cube and let it melt on the paper. Do not let great amounts of water on the paper or you will loose the paper.

2. With Bubbles - add a little food coloring and a little soap to water. Take a straw and blow bubbles using the mixture onto your paper.

3. With Jell-O Mix - add a little water and paint!

4. Puddin' Art - get a box of pudding and finger paint. Get vanilla and add a tiny bit food coloring to add colors. Also art you can eat.

5. Mud and Sand Paint - make your mixture thick or thin and you might be able to make some colors with a touch of food coloring. Great Earth tones!

6. Flower Power! Some flowers  can be used for great colors on paper. Paint with a marigold or perhaps a buttercup. Dandelions make great yellow colors. Use caution with those who can be allergic: pick only those flowers you will use, and pick only where permitted. Adult supervision is needed! Some green leaves will make a mark as well.

7. Chalk Paint - here is a great use for those tiny pieces of chalk. Add a little water to them crushed in a small plastic cup. If colors are not too bright add a little tiny drop of food coloring. Remember anything combined with food coloring can become a permanent mark on clothing.

8. Gravy Finger Paints -sure these earth tone finger paints are mostly brown, but what a great way to use up mixes that have been exposed to the raw elements or are really too old to be used for eating.

9. Popsicle Paint- do you have any mashed Popsicles sitting in the freezer? Or perhaps frozen juice ice cubes that you could spare? Why not let them melt on the paper for a unique drawing with Popsicles.

10. Soda Paint - yes you can try this one for fun! Try different kinds of soda and be sure to explain here, again, that the colors might be very light in appearance, but it can be fun to paint with soda! Orange, grape, root beer, and more! Dab with a paint brush or pour on and slosh it around.
