Review: Dog Bone Town
Music by: Dennis Caraher
By Victoria Pietz

This CD is fabulous, right from the artwork on the cover to the music within.  The lyrics will spark any child’s imagination.

Inside the front cover of the CD, you’ll find a short list of things to be grateful for.  When reading this, you get a feel for the crazy heart touching style that flows throughout the fun whimsical songs.

You’ll find yourself singing right along with the music whether you are 6 or 60.  To help you learn the songs and teach the words to your children, Dennis has so cleverly included the words for all of the songs.  You’ll get the idea of the fun you’ll have when reading the song titles.

The Elephant Played Electric Guitar.  Here is a sample of the lyrics.  “Now I was in my hiding place where I could not be seen.  Then I got this feeling in my face like I was gonna sneeze.  I tried to make the feeling leave…”  You can imagine the ending.

Little Bit Late.  This is a song about being late in the morning and rushing around.  Everyone is late sometimes, we all have to hurry and not hesitate.

Life Is So Confusing.  This is a wonderful silly song that a child’s imagination can take off with.  Here is a sample of the lyrics “When I woke up I was soakin’ wet, I dried myself off with my dog Fred.”

Bit By Bit.  Any child that is having trouble learning in school will relate to this song.  It shows how children can be triumphant and conquer anything they want to do.

The Little Boy.  This is a longer song about a boy that missed his teddy bear.  It is very touching.

Bog Bone Town.  Here is the title song.  Dog Bone Town is where all the dogs go to play.

The Little River.  Anyone with an appreciation for nature will truly love this song.  This song brings to light the importance of small streams and rivers.

Let It Go.  This is great to help a child work through feelings.  “You gotta let it go, let it go.  Gotta take that mad, give it a throw say…”  You get the idea.

Time To Go To Bed.   Including this song was a brilliant idea.  While, Little Bit Late is a wake up song, this is a song that makes you feel like going to bed.  The cd is set up as a child would spend an entire day discovering and going to bed after the long, exciting day.

So Long, See Ya Later.  All friends must say goodbye to one another.  With Dennis he said so long in a wonderful song.

My recommendation is a strong buy for this cd.  It is quality sound with a fun atmosphere.  Music teachers, elementary teachers, parents, and children will fall in love with the look, feel, and sound of Dog Bone Town.
