Remember
This Date in Time Scrapbook!
This is a great activity for all children, and one that is recommended for
keepsakes. Children that are younger can always enjoy help from teachers or
their parents while making this easy to make scrapbook.
Items needed:
* Paper (lined or construction is fine).
* 3 hole punch.
* old magazines/newspapers/coupon pages that can be cut into pieces.
* pens/pencils/markers/ and/or crayons.
* yarn or thick string enough to tie in neat bows for three holes.
* Hole reinforcers or tape.
* Imagination and creativity.
Each child can set out to make an unlimited amount of pages, limited only by
your time and your resources. Here is a list of pages that they shouldn't
have any trouble making, or having your assistance with. Please remember that
these are only suggestions and you can add or subtract from this list.

* Cover page - with the date, name of child, and age of child listed by an
adult or older child. Younger children can feel free to color it all in with
their art.
* Drawing page of themselves - have them draw on paper what they
think they look like.
* Page listing or pictures of their favorite foods.
* Page listing or pictures of their favorite movies.
* Page listing or pictures of their other favorites. You can add
pages here, or just use a combination page for others.
* Page listing their friends - best friends or arch enemies.
* Page listing their family members - and explain how they feel
about each member of the family on paper.
* Page of their family pets.
* Page with a signature or their name that they can color in.
* Family trip they remember, where and when.
* Photograph page of family, or the child. Have the child color in a picture
frame for the photograph.
To make this a family event, why not do this yearly or include mom, dad,
brothers and/or sisters. You can also make a joint book together with
relatives, and get the whole family involved in making a page or two. Other
ideas for creativity are to use fabric, paints, scrap paper, 1" notebook to hold
the entire collection of papers, and printing out pre-made forms from the
computer for filling in and coloring.
This activity can define a child's life, to a certain extent, and will create
memories for a lifetime. For those who are younger, pre-made forms can work
well, and parents can ask the questions as the child(ren) colors some unique
artwork for the scrapbook.
To finish the scrapbook up, group together the pages and use the three hole
punch. Please remember that you might have to hole punch in bunches, due to
the fact that they hold usually up to 20 thin pages of paper. Place the hole
reinforcers, or piece of tape over the hole. Make sure you also do this on
every page, or at the very least, the front and back cover pages. If
you are using the tape, please make sure you also three- hole-punch those
pages, too, and this will help protect your scrapbook better. To the
adult and/or the child who is finishing up with the book, make sure it is
dated, for a more lasting effect.

This type of scrapbook is very inexpensive to make, and should be made by
every family, due to the fact that families and children should always be
aware of their surroundings and their families. These make great holiday
gifts for parents, educators, grandparents, and special relatives (not all
relatives enjoy books about your family). This is also great for parties,
for remembrances, holidays, school events, classrooms, home daycare, special
trips, and childcare centers. Share your talent with the world, scan it, and
then get it published into an ebook.
